On the 30 January, ARE visited Sjælsmark for the first time together with Aja from the Danske Studerendes Fællesråd. We had the chance to speak with one of the Red Cross teachers up at Sjælsmark and get a tour around the camp to see our new classroom, where we will begin our lecture series in February!
When we arrived, all three of us were a bit shocked because Sjælsmark was so much worse than we thought. It was dirty everywhere and seemed very neglected. On our way to the Red Cross offices we were surrounded by barbwire all the time. But after our conversation with Helle, the Red Cross teacher, we had a much more positive feeling and are now looking forward to meeting all the young people up at Sjælsmark soon.
